About Single Layer Kimono(Hitoe Kimono):
"Hitoe" refers to a type of kimono that is unlined. However, it is still a non-sheer garment.

Traditionally, Hitoe kimonos are worn exclusively in both June and September, representing the early and late summer seasons in Japan. However, in recent years, more people have started wearing Hitoe as early as May or extending the wear into October, depending on the temperature.

Hitoe kimonos are comfortable to wear up to around 25 degrees Celsius. Above 30 degrees Celsius, even a Hitoe can feel too hot to wear comfortably.

So in summary, Hitoe is a type of unlined, non-sheer kimono that was historically worn during the summer months, but the wearing period has become more flexible in response to changing weather patterns.
