🐾 About the Design
Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre, also known as Mitsukuni Defying the Skeleton Spectre Invoked by Princess Takiyasha (Japanese: 相馬の古内裏 妖怪がしゃどくろと戦う大宅太郎光圀), is an ukiyo-e woodblock triptych created by the Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798–1861). Renowned for his portrayals of historical and mythical scenes, Kuniyoshi masterfully depicts the tenth-century princess Takiyasha summoning a skeleton spectre to terrify Ōya no Mitsukuni.

In paying homage to the original work, we aim to incorporate new elements that imbue this piece with fresh artistic significance. We have drawn inspiration from a famous haiku by Kobayashi Issa (1763–1828), a renowned Japanese poet:

“We journal through this world,
Surrounded by beauty,
As we walk toward our demise.”
(世の中は地獄の上の花見かな)

This can also be translated as:
“In this world, as if walking above hell, gazing at the blooming flowers.”

🐾 What is Ginza Musubi Knot?
The Ginza Musubi, created in the late Shōwa period, blends modern aesthetics with Japanese craftsmanship. Named after Tokyo’s fashion-forward Ginza district, it offers a chic, urban style that breaks traditional boundaries.

✨ Occasions
The Ginza Musubi doesn’t adhere strictly to traditional rules, making it more suitable for:

- Fashionable social occasions: dinners, parties, theater visits, wedding after-parties
- Daily refined wear: travel, dates, afternoon tea—effortlessly elevating any outfit
- A top choice for young women: perfect for expressing personality and energy, far from dullness
Note: Due to its eye-catching design, it is not recommended for solemn occasions such as traditional weddings, tea ceremonies, or funerals.

🌬️ Practical Comfort
- No Obi Makura/Obi Pillow required, making it breezier and more comfortable in summer
- It’s also more comfortable during long seated events, like theater performances, as it doesn’t cause the wearer to lean forward, ensuring no inconvenience to those sitting behind. A quick adjustment after sitting is all it takes to keep the knot looking perfect.

🎀 Comparison with Traditional Taiko Musubi
Compared to the formal and elegant Taiko knot, the Ginza Musubi emphasizes “IKI” (style)—a chic, urban elegance. It tones down formality and introduces a casual, creative vibe, transforming the kimono from occasion-specific wear into an expression of everyday fashion.

🦋 In Conclusion
Ginza Musubi is an attitude, merging classic and contemporary beauty. Whether new to kimono or a seasoned enthusiast, this knot lets you express your unique style effortlessly.

— Let every tie be an act of fashion creation.
